Neal Smith is the Scholarly Communications and Digital Services Librarian at AdventHealth University. He specializes in copyright education and electronic systems. He builds and maintains digital research platforms for the R.A. Williams Library, supports faculty scholarship and research, and answers research and reference questions. Scholarship and research support includes copyright guidance, help navigating open access publishing, and data management. Prior to joining the faculty at AHU, Neal worked as an intern at the U.S. Copyright Office and a legal reference librarian at the Western New England University School of Law. Neal has an MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons College and a JD from the University of New Hampshire School of Law, where he served as notes editor for IDEA: The Intellectual Property Law Review.
Neal's current research interests include copyright in academic and medical settings, plagiarism, and information ethics.
